Matt Murdoch is a blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen during the day. At night, he's the city's vigilante Guardian Devil known as : Daredevil! As a child, he tried to save some old guy from getting ran over, and a barrel of radioactive waste spilled onto his eyes, causing him to go blind. But the chemicals caused his remaining senses to function beyond superhuman peaks! Even his heightened sense of sound could produce sonic waves in which enables sonar sight. After his father, Battlin' Jack Murdoch, refused to throw a fight, he was killed. Matt took on the persona of Daredevil to get revenge on his father's killers. You know Batman.
So instead of a Bio, I'm going to torture you by getting the Batman theme stuck in your head:
Duhnuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh nuh BATMAN!
Fine... Bruce Wayne is a billionaire playboy who saw his parents get shot in an alley in front of him. Fed up with the crime that plagues Gotham City, he dons the cape and cowl and beats the crap out of criminals as Batman, with a few super villains on the side.
Yea.. That doesn't NEARLY do justice for the World's Greatest Detective. This year marks the 75th anniversary of Batman. 75 years ago... Bob Kane unknowingly brought into this world an icon of pop culture that would continue to thrive. Batman has been portrayed in DC Comics for 75 years straight. He has seen several successful films, TV shows, video games and cartoons. His rogues gallery has some of the most iconic villains, including the Joker, who is his most famous adversary.
There REALLY isn't enough space on this page to cover the entire history of Batman. He is iconic. You should know of him. If not..... get off this page, you're obviously lost on this confounded thing called the Internet.
THE BATTLE
AS MOST LIKELY TO SEE IN A COMIC ISSUE
AS MOST LIKELY TO SEE IN A COMIC ISSUE
Let's get the obvious out of the way. Daredevil actually HAS superhuman abilities. Batman has 0 superhuman abilities. With Daredevil being blind, his heightened senses does not give him a disability against facing Batman. Still on the flip side, arguing the fact that Daredevil HAS the superhuman advantage over Bruce is invalid due to the intellectual capacity of Batman over Daredevil.
Imagine, if you will, seeing these two figures in a battle. High above the city rooftops. Black clouded sky, save for the moonlight creeping through the rain. The fighting styles of both are various styles of martial arts. Batman can utilize a full arsenal of gadgets and weaponry. Batarangs and grappling hooks are the most basic. But each can have it's own varying degree of usefulness. Even with the weapons that Batman can unleash, Daredevil can counter each with heightened sonar abilities. Dodging the gadgets, Batman could test his superior martial arts training. What happens when one gets the upper hand of that? Daredevil can still react faster. Batman has the distinct adaptation to read his opponent within seconds. Oh... but then Matt has his baton, as well! That combined with his heightened senses definitely shifts the favor a little more towards Daredevil. Also factor in how each opponent moves throughout the city. Daredevil utilizes his baton as a grappling hook and his sense of touch gives him superhuman powers of balance and swiftness. He can easily bounce from building to building, swinging through each with his grapple. Batman can use his grappling as well, but the advantage he has, is his cape. He can glide using his cape. But can that really be of more benefit against a guy who could use that idle glide time to pounce?
The biggest factor of this fight, however, is Batman's intellect. Anyone who knows the Caped Crusader, knows that he never enters a confrontation unprepared. Smoke pellets are an item that Batman ALWAYS has on him. These can easily be used to throw off Daredevil's sense of smell. But what about his sonar? Yes... Daredevil's sonar sense is superior, but as we have read many times in the comics, it can be fallible. Batman needs only to release high pitched sonic emitters to make him blind to sound as well. With Daredevil's senses rendered useless, it's hard to put up much of a fight against Batman.

THE WINNER: BATMAN
Having the knowledge of Daredevil's weaknesses, the Batman is always prepared. As justice is served that night, there is still a silent respect for each other. Perhaps... in another world, they may need help from each other... But for this night. This fight. Daredevil, even with his heightened abilities, could not best the Batman in a fight. He has too many weaknesses to exploit from all of the Dark Knight's wonderful toys. Still. It's not impossible for Batman to be unprepared. But as quickly as he adapts against his opponent, he could still figure out how to use something to nullify Daredevil's senses. Just be glad he didn't bust out any of his vehicles! The Batwing and Batmobile had to be disqualified as that would have been total overkill. As Murdoch says, "Justice is blind"... maybe he didn't realize... Justice is blind as a bat.
Tune in next week for Issue #3, when we see two heroes "Hammer" it out!
